Benedict's educational programs are currently designed for face-to-face instruction. With the exception of select courses that have been listed as Online or Hybrid in the master course schedule, participation in Benedict courses requires an on-campus presence and regular face-to-face attendance.
However, in rare instances, students may be granted permission to complete a course remotely due to documented extenuating circumstances. Online instruction must be requested in advance and requires permission from Academic Affairs. Students requesting online instruction must complete this request form in its entirety, including required documentation. The request will be reviewed by a committee of Benedict personnel, who will consider the following criteria:
- *Student's Academic Performance - Students on Academic Probation or with cumulative GPAs below 2.5 will generally be considered ineligible;
- *Strength of documentation provided - Approval is generally reserved for extreme circumstances that are beyond the student's control.
- *Student's classification and requested courses - The committee will consider the impact upon the student's progression to graduation, viability of remote instruction for the requested courses, and instructor's capability for online instruction.
